What I Do When I Am Stuck on a Problem

Here are my ways to solve problems when I feel stuck.

1. Take a break, like walking around, sleeping, or doing other things to clear my mind.

brain gets overloaded or numb. refresh the brain by sleeping or light physical activities. forget about it for a while, let the brain do the work in background.

2. Ask for help from other people, search on Google, or use AI.

coworkers, coding friends and people on the internet have done it before or know things we don't. AI has giga brain.

3. Explain the problem step by step to someone.

some critical details could be missing, explaining could point out those details missed. we might even come up with the solution while going through it.

4. Try a different approach, because sometimes we focus too much on one method.

initially, there could be a clear and appealing solution to a problem, locked in so hard, we forgot there are other approaches.

5. Step back and look at the problem from a bigger picture or a new angle.

see the problem with a different perspective. sometimes, it isn't a problem needed solved in the first place.
