My name is Sum Sopha, and I am the Founder & CEO of Jobify (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. When I look back, it still feels surreal that just a few years ago I was a Software Engineering student, and today I am leading a tech startup that has connected thousands of talents with opportunities in Cambodia’s growing digital economy.
Starting as a Fresh Graduate
When I graduated with a degree in Software Engineering from the Kirirom Institute of Technology, I had the same uncertainty many young people face: What comes next?
I could have taken the safer path of finding a regular job as a developer. But I believed my skills and energy could be used to solve a bigger challenge — the gap between talents and opportunities in our tech industry. With that in mind, I chose a harder road: to build something of my own from scratch, even without experience, resources, or a clear roadmap.
The Birth of Jobify Cambodia

That decision became Jobify Cambodia. What started as a simple idea from a fresh graduate has now grown into a platform trusted by over 150 companies and more than 15,000 job seekers. Today, Jobify provides both IT recruitment and staffing solutions, helping companies find the right people while guiding young professionals to build their careers.
Along the way, we’ve been recognized with the Khmer Enterprise Startup Award 2024 and selected for the Digital Platform Accelerator by Techo Startup Center. But what I value most is not the awards — it is the impact on people’s lives. Every candidate who gets their first job, every company that grows because of the right hire, reminds me why I started this journey.
Leadership with Humility
Being a CEO doesn’t mean I know everything. In fact, I’ve learned more from failures and from the people around me than from success. My leadership philosophy is simple: listen first, act with integrity, and always think of the community before myself.
I’m proud to also contribute as part of the Khmer Coders Community and the Python Community, where I mentor and support the next generation of developers and entrepreneurs. To me, true leadership is not about the title — it’s about creating opportunities for others.
Looking Forward

The journey is still just beginning. At Jobify, we are now working towards AI-driven job matching solutions and exploring how technology can better support Cambodia’s future workforce. My dream is to see Cambodian youth not only compete but lead in the digital economy, regionally and globally.
If there’s one lesson I’ve learned since graduation, it’s this:
Success is not about building something for yourself. It’s about building something that helps others succeed.
That belief is what keeps me moving forward — from student to startup founder, and hopefully, to building a lasting impact for Cambodia’s tech community.
