Last week, I had the privilege of joining The 13th Forum on China-ASEAN Technology Transfer and Collaborative Innovation (FCATTCI) in China under the theme “Shared AI, Shared Future.” With the kind support of the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI), I was also able to visit innovative companies and learn firsthand how they are applying AI and advanced technologies to real-world problems.
These experiences gave me a stronger conviction: Cambodian coders are entering a future with endless opportunities.
- AI + Coding = New Possibilities
In China, companies are already using AI tools to enhance productivity in software development, testing, and system integration. For Cambodian coders, this means that knowing how to work with AI will soon become a must-have skill. AI won’t replace coders—it will upgrade them.
- Beyond Local: Competing on a Global Stage
The companies I met are not only focused on their local markets but are building solutions for global clients. This shows us that Cambodian coders, with the right mindset and skills, can compete regionally and globally—whether in ASEAN, Japan, Korea, or beyond.
- The Human Touch Still Matters
Even with advanced AI, one message kept repeating: technology can automate many processes, but the human role in creativity, culture, and decision-making remains essential. In recruitment, in business, and in coding, it’s the human sense that brings depth and value.
- Opportunities for Cambodian Coders
From AI-powered platforms to digital transformation projects, Cambodia’s future economy will need more coders than ever. Whether in fintech, healthtech, edtech, or government digital services, coders will play a key role. But to stay ahead, we must continue to learn, adapt, and collaborate with technology.
💡 My visit to China reminded me that the journey for Cambodian coders is just beginning. We don’t just write code—we create opportunities, build solutions, and open doors for Cambodia’s digital future.
