Khmer Coders Gathering V7: Connecting Cambodia’s Developers to Learn, Share and Build Together
Khmer Coders Gathering V7: Connecting Cambodia’s Developers to Learn, Share and Build Together
Khmer Coders Gathering V7 was made possible through the collective support of organizations that believe in the growth of Cambodia’s developer, startup, and technology ecosystem.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Khmer Enterprise (KE) for supporting Khmer Coders Community and contributing to our shared mission of creating more opportunities for Cambodian developers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and startups to connect and grow.
Through this collaboration, KCC V7 also created space for community-built projects and local innovators to showcase their work, connecting technical talent with the broader startup and innovation ecosystem.
We are equally grateful to all of our sponsors, community partners, co-organizers, and in-kind partners whose financial support, resources, networks, and time helped make Gathering V7 possible.
Our Sponsors
🏆 Gold Sponsor SKAI Technology
🥈 Silver Sponsors PlasGate • Bill24 • KOKSIN • DAUN PENH CLOUD
Their support enabled us to create an accessible community gathering where hundreds of developers, students, and technology professionals could learn, connect, and exchange ideas. The final event agenda also provided dedicated opportunities for these sponsors to engage directly with the community.
Community & Ecosystem Partners
Our sincere appreciation also goes to Khmer Enterprise, Techo Startup Center, Startup Cambodia, ISTAD, FirstWave, Sunrise Institute, and our other ecosystem supporters for helping strengthen the connection between Cambodia’s developer, education, startup, and innovation communities.
Co-Organizers
A special thank you to Jobify and DataU for contributing their team, resources, and operational support as co-organizers of Gathering V7.
In-Kind Partners
We also sincerely thank ONLINE by COGETEL and Raintree for their in-kind contribution to the event.
ONLINE supported the community with three six-month internet packages for participant giveaways, while Raintree supported the event venue arrangements and provided the space where our community came together.
These partnerships demonstrate what Khmer Coders Community stands for: community, industry, government-supported ecosystem organizations, startups, and volunteers working together to strengthen Cambodia’s technology future.

Phnom Penh, 21 August 2026 — Khmer Coders Community successfully hosted Khmer Coders Gathering V7 at Raintree, Phnom Penh, bringing Cambodia’s developer and technology community together for an evening of knowledge sharing, innovation, networking, and community building.
Under the theme “Connect • Learn • Build,” the gathering welcomed developers, students, technology professionals, startup founders, innovators, partners, and industry leaders to exchange ideas and strengthen connections across Cambodia’s growing digital ecosystem.

More Than an Event — A Community Built Together
Khmer Coders Community was created around a simple belief: Cambodian technology talent can grow further when people have an open platform to learn from one another, build meaningful connections, showcase what they are creating, and contribute back to the community.
Over more than seven years, KCC has grown into one of Cambodia’s active independent technology communities, with 15K+ Facebook members, 1,800+ Telegram members, 3,000+ cumulative event attendees, and more than 16 major events organized across Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.
Gathering V7 continued that journey by putting the community itself at the center of the evening.

From Khmer-Native AI to Secure Software Development
The evening featured two technical knowledge-sharing sessions addressing topics increasingly important to Cambodia’s developer ecosystem.
Dr. Rina Buoy shared his session, “Accelerating Khmer-Native AI: Are There Any Shortcuts?”, bringing an applied AI perspective to the opportunities and challenges of advancing AI for the Khmer language and Cambodian context. Dr. Rina is an Applied AI Researcher at Techo Startup Center and also contributes to AI research and education through AI Forum Cambodia, Osaka Metropolitan University, and Cambodian universities.

The second technical session was delivered by Mr. Neak Ponleu on “Hacker vs Developer: Decoding the Mindset Shift for Secure Code.” The discussion encouraged developers to look beyond how software is intended to work and understand how attackers may identify weaknesses, assumptions, and security risks in real-world applications.

Both sessions were followed by open Q&A and community conversations, giving participants the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers.

Built by the Community, Showcased to the Community
One of the highlights of KCC V7 was the Community Project Showcase, creating a stage for Cambodian builders to demonstrate what they are working on.
Four community projects were featured:
- KhmerRooms by Song Pitou — a Cambodia hotel booking platform
- Aicser GenBI for Data + AI by Glen & Sokhna
- SomlengSrt by Sothea — turning Khmer audio into subtitles
- Benpocket by Visal In — an open-source collection of developer mini-tools
Rather than ending with presentations, participants were encouraged to continue the conversation through freestyle networking and project demonstrations—connecting builders directly with fellow developers, potential collaborators, and members of the wider ecosystem.

Powered by Partnership and Volunteer Spirit
KCC V7 was made possible through the collective contribution of speakers, sponsors, community partners, co-organizers, in-kind partners, project teams, and volunteers.
Most importantly, Khmer Coders remains a volunteer-driven community. Behind the stage, registration, technical setup, guest coordination, logistics, photography, communications, and event operations was a team of volunteers contributing their time and skills to create something valuable for Cambodia’s technology community.
We sincerely thank every organization and individual who believed in the mission and contributed to making Gathering V7 possible.

The Journey Continues
From earlier gatherings of developers sharing projects and ideas to today’s growing network across Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, Khmer Coders continues to evolve alongside Cambodia’s technology ecosystem. Previous gatherings have brought hundreds of developers together, while KCC has expanded into AI seminars, regional activities, technical knowledge sharing, and community-led initiatives.
But Gathering V7 is not the finish line.
It is another step toward a stronger community where Cambodian developers can find knowledge, connections, opportunities, and a platform to build.
To everyone who joined us at V7: thank you for bringing your energy, ideas, and community spirit.
To our speakers, sponsors, partners, project teams, and volunteers: thank you for building this together with us.
And to every Cambodian developer and technology enthusiast:
Keep learning. Keep sharing. Keep building.
Together, we Connect • Learn • Build and contribute to the future of Cambodia’s technology ecosystem. 🇰🇭🚀
